I’m Feeling A Bit Lonely Tonight

Some of the hardest things to accept in life are the facts of being human. I feel lonely tonight because I am still human in many ways. Some may say, but of course you are human! What else can you be? Jesus said that we are gods, and the Scripture cannot be broken.

John 10:34-36 King James Version

34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

These amazing words spoken by King Jesus Christ reveal that the true identity of a son of God, or a daughter of God, is to be a god. How can a son of God be anything else but a god? Yet almost any professing Christian does not believe it, not even for a moment.

Psalm 82 King James Version

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

As for me I believe what King Jesus Christ said. It adds even more faith and certainty to know that he quoted from Psalm 82. I am a solid believer of the fact that I am a god. Yet I still feel lonely tonight. Why is this?

Mark 3:1-5 King James Version

1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.

And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.

And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.

And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

Here we see that Jesus Christ, even though he is God, has emotions. He was angered. He grieved. He has feelings just like we ourselves have. So this explains why even though I am a god, I can still feel lonely for some companionship.

Luke 19:41-44 King James Version

41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

John 11:31-36 King James Version

31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.

34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

35 Jesus wept.

36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

Jesus felt pain, heartache, compassion, and sadness. Even to the point where he cried and he wept. Therefore it becomes very clear why I am able to feel lonely tonight.

You know something wonderful? As I wrote this blog post, I focused on Jesus Christ and what he has done for us. Now I don’t feel lonely any more.

Therefore the cure to loneliness is to focus on King Jesus Christ being near to you. Picture him clearly being there with you. As you do this the loneliness shall leave you.

I praise God because he has a cure for everything that we face in this life. He can heal our emotions just as surely as he can heal our bodies.
